LABOUR MARKET, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNGSTERS AND MUCH MORE

10 Nov 2019

Employment policies and labour market reforms in the Western Balkan countries were some of the topics covered in the Second workshop for the Regional youth working group organized in Prishtina on the 5th and 6th November in the framework of the project Regional Youth Compact for Europe.

The workshop had an objective to deepen the youth group’s common understanding of the accession negotiation process with particular focus on the Chapter 19: Social Policy and Employment.

Experts from the region shared their expertise in labour market reforms, work opportunities, social cohesions, youth mobility and more. The youngsters had the opportunity to take part in group discussions, debates, different types of practical exercises and a bit of traditional lectures.

The lectures animated the group as they were full of examples of the region, both good and bad, also best practices and anecdotes that lead to better understanding how the youngsters can contribute in policy making in their respective countries.

At the end of the workshop, the participants were asked to give their own recommendations of what change they want to see and some ideas how to do it.

The project “Regional Youth Compact for Europe” implemented by the Center for Democracy Foundation, European ALDA network and the BNLD - Balkans Network for Local Democracy, CRTA, Youth Act and Sodem.
