Are you between 18 and 30 years of age?
Are you interested in expressing your opinions about mobility and citizenship in a creative way?
Do you have a working knowledge of English?
The COVID-19 pandemic has illustrated how interconnected humanity truly is and the intricate relationship between health, climate and people. It has made us re-think a number of concepts that were already being questioned but have become more painfully important with the virus’ outbreak: How important is freedom of movement? What meaning do borders have? What does citizenship mean today?
But what do young people think about the notion of citizenship? Particularly in light of the restrictions imposed during the pandemic: Is it a term that implies belonging? Does it have any meaning at all? And what of the borders that separate countries and the migrants and refugees that continued to cross them regardless of the restrictions in place due to COVID-19?
We are looking for young people from 18 to 30 years of age to participate in an exciting initiative that will try and answer these questions creatively through our project “Citizenship on the Border: The Voices of Youth”, funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.
Be part of a group of young people from Morocco, Turkey/Syria, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Italy and France that will tease out these important concepts together.
Important milestones to remember:
- Three online meetings will be held between April and May 2023
- A nine-day in-person meeting held in Val di Susa, Italy from 4 June to 10 June 2023 (3 June & 11 June will be travel days)

- A final event to be held simultaneously August/September 2023
