WE WERE ON THE EUROPEAN VOLUNTEERING FORUM IN MARIBOR (SLO)

17 Oct 2016

In the period from 10th until 14th of October was held „European Volunteering Forum“ in Maribor (SLO).
The aim of the Forum was to promote a volunteering as positive social phenomenon and also promoting of European Volunteering Service as program for volunteering and volunteers around the world.

On the Forum there was 28 representatives of goverment institutions, repsresantatives from National agencies, former volunteers of European volunteering service and representatives of non-govermental organisations whose aim is to further promotion of volunteering.

Forum enabled participants to exchange experiences as well as to obtain new contats between organisation who dealing with volunteering or have EVS accreditation. Also during the Forum participants were defined the most common challenges that faced organization in carrying out volunteer projects and activities, participants also defined obstacles related to the sending/hosting and coordinating of volunteers during their volunteering service in foreign countries and they were also defines the challenges considering the future of volunteering.

This year marks 20 years of European volunteering service through which so far has been more over 100,000 volunteers and through EVS volunteers had opportunity to participate in various volunteer projects in foreign countries.  One of the main conclusions of the Forum is that it is a big disadvantage to not to have a legislative framework that would primarily protect volunteers, especially those who are volunteering in foreign countries, the lack of cooperation between local authorities and non-govermental organisations who are involved in volunteering, then the lack of cooperation at national and European level in order to promote volunteering.
LDA Zavidovici has also participated in the forum with ther representative Dino Sinanovic.
Hosts of the Forum was SALTO SEE together with German, Italian, Slovenian, Spanish and Turkish Nationa Agency for Erasmus+. Facilitators at the forum were Gisel Evrard, Anna Yeghoyan and Amr Arafa.

Učestvovali smo u „Evropskom volonterskom forumu“ u Mariboru (SLO)

U periodu od 10. – 14.
