Oriano Otocan is the new President of ALDA, the Association of Local Democracy Agencies. He represent the Istria Region, Croatia, where he served first as a Member of the Regional Government, and afterwards as Director of Department in charge of international cooperation and European integration. He has been elected by the General Assembly of ALDA, that have renewed the Governing Board of the Association.
In the Bureau, with Otocan, has been elected also ImislawaGorska, Principal of the International School of Bydgoszcz, Poland, Vicepresident, Alessandro Perelli, Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Italy, Vicepresident, Paula Rauzan, Delegate of the local Democracy Agency of Sisak, Croatia, Secretary, and Roger Lawrence, Municipality ofWolverhampton, United Kingdom, Treasurer.
Other elected members of the Governing Board will be for the next four years also Alain Tourret, Vicepresident of Lower Normandy Region, MirceaCosma, President of Prahova County, Romania, Valery Deschamps, President of the Association “Maison de l’Europe”, Caen, France, DobricaMilovanovic, Deputy Mayor of the City ofKragujevac, Serbia,Ruggiero Mennea,Councillor of Apulia Region, Italy, andLucioGregoretti, Municipality ofMonfalcone, Italy.
“Ii is important to continue the ALDA activities in the countries of South East Europe – stated Oriano Otocan, new ALDA President- because, if it is true that Croatia will be soon an EU member, is also true that other countries are still too much centralized, and have in front other steps toward the EU integration. ALDA can be surely an actor in this path and can be helpful to provide and support these countries in achieving the necessary requesit. Also thanks to its experiences in Croatia, ALDA will work to guarantee a stronger citizen participation, the strengthening of local authorities and a development that meets the needs of citizens”.
ORIANO OTOČAN, REGIJA ISTRA, IZABRAN ZA NOVOG PREDSJEDNIKA
Oriano Otočan je novi predsjednik Asocijacije Agencija Lokalne Demokratije - ALDA. On je predstavnik Regije Istra u Hrvatskoj, gdje je u početku bio član Regionalne Vlade, a zatim direktor Odjela za međunarodnu suranju i Europske integracije. Odabran je od strane Generalne skupštine ALDA, koja je takođe obnovila Upravni odbor Asocijacije.
U Birou zajedno sa Otočanom odabrani su i Imislawa Gorska, potpredsjednica - predstavnica internacionalne škole iz Bydegoszcz u Poljskoj, Alessandro Perelli potpredsjednik - predstvanik Regije Friuli Venezia Giulia iz Italije, Paula Rauzan sekretar - delegat Agencije Sisak Hrvatska, Roger Lawrence – blagajnik, Općina Wolverhampton Velika Britanija.
Ostali odabrani članovi Upravnog Odbora naredne četiri godine će biti Alain Tourret Regija Donja Normandija (Francuska), Mircea Cosma, Regija Prahova (Rumunija), Valery Deschamps, Asocijacija “Maison de l’Europe” Caen, France, Dobrica Milovanović, zamjenik gradonačelnika grada Kragujevca Srbija, Ruggiero Mennea,član vijeća regije Apulia, Italija i Lucio Gregoretti gradonačelnik Monfalcone, Italija.
“Bitno je nastaviti aktivnosti koje provodi ALDA u zemljama Jugoistočne Evrope“, rekao je Oriano Otočan, novi predsjednik ALDA-e, „jer ako je tačno da će Hrvatska biti uskoro zemlja članica Evropske Unije, također je tačno da će i druge zemlje koje su još uvijek centralizovane, morati poduzimati korake prema integraciji u EU. ALDA će sigurno biti dio tog puta i uspješno će osigurati i podržati ove zemlje u postizanju neophodnih zahtjeva. Također zahvaljujući iskustvu u Hrvatskoj, ALDA će sigurno raditi na jačem učešću građana, i ojačavanju lokalnih vlasti, kao i na razvoju koji će biti u koristi građana”.
